Prof. Abikoye has two decades of experience as a clinical psychologist across several national and international institutions. He has served as Head of Department of several academic departments and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Prof. Abikoye is widely published, with many scientific publications in national and international outlets to his credit. He has taught and has successfully supervised projects and theses at the various levels in the university system. He was / is External Examiner to several universities within and outside Nigeria. As a scholar, Prof. Abikoye has won several grants, awards and recognition nationally and internationally.
As a humanitarian, he has worked with Nigerian Red Cross Society, rising to the position of Commandant. He also worked with the Dutch Section of Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF-Holland), Center for Research and Information on Substance Abuse (CRISA) and International Society of Substance Abuse Professionals, Nigeria Chapter (ISSUP) where he is the National General Secretary and member of Board of Trustees. In recognition of his professional expertise, he was appointed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as member of UNODC’s National Technical Committee. He is a committed member of both the Nigerian Psychological Association (NPA) and Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists (NACP) and has served both associations diligently and sacrificially in several capacities, leading to his being decorated as Fellow of both associations in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
Prof. Abikoye was elevated to the professorial cadre at University of Uyo in 2015. He is currently a Professor of Clinical Psychology (Sabbatical) at Covenant University, Canaanland, Ota. He is married and the marriage is blessed with children.
Dr. Margaret Kwagher Akogun is Clinical Psychologist. She is an Assistant Director of Psychology working with Jos University Teaching Hospital and has 20 years of practice conducting psychotherapy, counseling and other psychosocial treatment with mental health and substance Use Disorder patients.
